ABB and PERIC Hydrogen Technologies have announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to optimize green hydrogen production as demand for the energy carrier persists to accelerate globally.
As per the MoU, the companies will now work to develop joint solutions and integrate complementary technologies for electrolysis.
Zhang Yuguang, General Manager of PERIC, said, "It is critical for hydrogen to be generated as efficiently as possible.
"ABB's energy management technologies, combined with their automation, electrification, and digitalization solutions, will help us find the best way to boost the efficiency of our own operations, which in turn, will help minimize the cost of hydrogen production."
As part of the collaboration, ABB's integrated approach will support PERIC in optimizing energy use throughout plants and consequently reducing costs of electrolyser production.
Through implementing ABB's digital solutions, all data from a plant's equipment can be integrated into a single automation system that will be continuously analyser to maintain continuous and effective operation.
Brandon Spencer, President of Energy Industries at ABB, stated, "Hydrogen holds significant potential to play an important role in a clean energy future and is an important pillar of the ongoing energy transition.
"We are pleased to be working with PERIC and bring our technologies into play alongside their world-class electrolysis competencies, in a collaboration that reflects our joint vision of energy-efficient, affordable, and clean hydrogen production."
