Electric vehicle charging network firm, Charge + Zone has announced that it has set up 20 unmanned, app-powered EV charging points over 1,000 km on the Gujarat-Maharashtra National Highway.

Designed for both personal and public e-mobility, these charging stations will be installed as part of the company's larger goal of "electrifying" 10,000 kilometers of national and state highways over the next 3-5 years, the company said in a declaration.

These charging stations are fast DC charging points that supply electric four-wheelers. It can deliver up to 80 percent charge in 45-60 minutes and a full charge in 90-120 minutes, depending on the size of the EV's battery, it added.

Kartikeya Haryani, Founder and CEO, Charge+Zone stated that it is part of the company's larger vision to build a strong network of one million EV charging points by 2030.

"Through our National Highways (NH) Electrification Program, we have successfully implemented complete stack EV charging solutions across multiple cities and states that are accessible, affordable, and easy to use," Haryana added.

Charge + Zone states it has established an active B2B and B2C network for EV charging stations for both fleet and retail customers, setting up more than 1,250 charging points across more than 650 EV charging stations serving about 4,000 EVs per day.

In December 2021, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to install 10,000 charging stations on national and state highways between the states.
