VW Group's Elli expands to 600,000 EV charging points across Europe

Volkswagen Group's EV charging infra brand Elli has announced the expansion of its charging network to boast more than 600,000 charge points across 27 countries in Europe. The network is strategically expanding its mobility service business, in addition to the quantitative expansion of the network including customer satisfaction, notes Elli.

It appears that the company has added a whooping 200,000 charge points in just one year, as Elli announced the milestone of 400,000 EV charging points in last December, claiming to be the greatest charging network in the continent.

Giovanni Palazzo, CEO of Elli, expressed his delight with the latest development. He stated, "We are starting the year with an incredible news: Providing a pan-European network counting more than 600,000 charge points is a significant achievement for Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH. However, our commitment goes beyond quantity; it's about ensuring a high-quality charging experience to advancing electric mobility and decarbonizing society."

One of the key initiatives driving quality of charging is the 'Selected Partner Network', an initiative from Volkswagen Group designed to elevate the charging experience of its customers. It is a carefully curated group of partners of premium charge point operators that have been selected according to strict quality criteria.

Further, the network has optimal charge stops, high-performance charging infrastructure with on-site convenience, and excellent operational reliability, claims the group. At present, IONITY Europe, Aral Pulse, the Audi charging hubs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and Ewiva in Italy are also part of the Selected Partner Network.

Palazzo, who was featured in ETN Global Leaders of Emerging Tech 2023 list, noted, "As electric mobility continues to gain momentum, Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH remains at the forefront of innovation, contributing to the establishment of a robust and reliable charging and energy infrastructure across Europe".
