India offers ₹50 crore each to four hydrogen valleys: Pune, Jodhpur, Bhubaneshwar, Kerala

The Government of India has approved funding of ₹50 crore each over five years to four Hydrogen Valleys coming up in the country: Pune, Jodhpur, Bhubaneshwar and Kerala.

The approval was granted by the Department of Science and Technology under the Union Ministry of Science and Technology and was based "on the merits and preparedness of the recommended hydrogen valley innovation clusters (HVIC)," a senior government official told reporters on condition of anonymity.

The four selected HVICs all have different application focus for hydrogen.

India is aiming to generate 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen capacity by 2030.
