Hild Electric to support NTPC's green H2 ambitions with alkaline electrolyzers

Chennai-based Hild Electric has been selected as the technology provider for alkaline electrolyzers to NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (REL), the renewable energy subsidiary of India's largest power utility National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). 

According to media reports, the company that specializes in different kinds of electrolyzers would deploy advanced electrolyser systems with a capacity of up to 600 MW at NTPC-REL projects across the country, spanning across industrial, transportation, power generation and ammonia production applications.

This is expected to support NTPC's ambitious target of achieving at least 150 kTPA of green hydrogen production in the country by 2032. 

"Partnering with NTPC REL as their preferred technology provider on what is the largest Alkaline electrolyser deal in India is an incredible breakthrough", Hild Electric commented on the new partnership with NTPC. 

The company further added, "Hild Electric appreciates CMD (NTPC) and CEO (NTPC Renewables) for their vision and commitment in Green Hydrogen. NTPC's forward-thinking approach has continuously enabled it to be first amongst its peers to adopt innovative clean technologies".

Hild Electric claims to be working on innovative technologies to generate green hydrogen in India. The company says it is working on various H2 applications including hydrogen mobility and blending technologies. 

It's hydrogen product portfolio includes alkaline, PEM, AEM, and solid oxide electrolyzers, along with developing fuel cell systems and hydrogen refueling stations for transport applications. ​
