Car maker Stellantis and hydrogen mobility firm Hype have recently announced their partnership for the supply and operation of hydrogen-powered vehicles, starting with a first batch of 50 zero-emission, hydrogen-powered PRM taxis in Paris to better meet the needs of people with reduced mobility.
The 50 Peugeot e-Expert Hydrogen and Citroën ë-Dispatch Hydrogen vehicles are locally manufactured in France, and is specifically designed for commercial use thanks to its 249 mile range, 3-minute refuelling time, zero emission credentials and no compromise on the vehicle load capacities, according to the company.

The vehicles comprise a "reasonably-sized" rechargeable battery and a hydrogen fuel cell system, making them the ideal solution for large-scale deployment, adds Stellantis.
"With these Peugeot e-Expert Hydrogen and Citroën ë-Dispatch Hydrogen vehicles, we are happy to further strengthen our leadership in zero-emission Vans, via our partnership with Hype, focused on people with reduced mobility", said Xavier Peugeot, Director of the Stellantis LCV BU.
Hype claims to be developing the first hydrogen mobility platform integrating sourcing and production, distribution and uses, with taxis as the first relevant market.
The company has been operating the world's largest fleet of hydrogen-powered taxis for more than seven years, now seeks to drive a rapid and mass transition to zero-emission, on-demand transportation and professional mobility uses.

Hype is also planning to deploy its hydrogen mobility platform in 15 other regions in France and around the world by the end of 2025.
