Chinese battery manufacturer SVOLT Energy has announced of mass production of EV battery packs at the company's newly-established facility located at the Si Racha town in Chonburi province of Thailand. The plant total production capacity is said to be about 60,000 modules and packs per year.
The company has officially revealed that the bulk deliveries of battery packs for its key clients have begun, with a target of supplying more than 20,000 battery packs to local customers this year, according to media reports. SVOLT, however, has not made public the plant's exact capacity yet.
The battery packs made at the Thai facility is expected to equip a variety of new energy vehicles (NEVs) of Hozon New Energy Automobile (parent company of Neta Auto) and Great Wall Motor's Ora, Tank, and Haval brands that are locally assembled in the country.

The facility has two production lines, one for producing the battery modules and the other for assembling them into battery packs. It is reported that the battery modules made at the site utilizes the company's 'L600' series cells of Lithium Iron-phosphate (LFP) chemistry, currently imported from China.
SVOLT Energy's 'LCTP' battery packs assembled at the Thai facility boast a capacity of up to 60 kWh, translating to a driving range of up to 500 kms for electric cars.
The Thai battery plant is considered as a important site for the company's global presence and expansion, leveraging the country's emerging EV market and robust automotive manufacturing. A plant is operated by a JV company established by SVOLT's Thai subsidiary and local Banpu NEXT.
Both the company have also vowed to deepen their cooperation in the fields of energy storage, cell manufacturing, and battery recycling. The partners are also exploring localized battery cell manufacturing, in sync with Thailand's battery production plans from 2026 onwards.
