Tata Power Renewable commissions 110 MW solar capacity in Bikaner

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Ltd announced the commissioning of a 110 MW solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The project will supply 110 MW of green power to the Kerala State Electricity Board, the company said in a statement.

With the commissioning of this project, TPREL's has installed 4047 MW of renewables capacity, consisting of 3,106 MW solar capacity and 941 MW wind capacity. The company is one of the major renewable energy players in the country, having commissioned projects for Brookfield India and Vibrant Energy

It has a further 2,741 MW of renewables capacity under various stages of implementation.

TPREL said the Bikaner project is expected to generate 211 million units of power and reduce carbon footprint by 2,58,257 metric tons a year.

TPREL operates a 1.2 GW capacity solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Bengaluru, and in planning to set up 4 GW of solar cell and 4 GW of solar module greenfield capacity.

The company also provides electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions across various segments.

In its release, TPREL claimed this was one of the fastest commissioned projects in Rajasthan. CEO Ashish Khanna said the commissioning within stipulated time frame "reaffirmed" the company's commitment towards India's green energy transition.
