Vietnamese automaker VinFast is debuting the company's first range of right-hand drive electric cars at the on-going Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024. The brand's full-range of e-cars ranging from A-SUV to E-SUV segments are on display, including VF 5, VF e34, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 models.
Tran Quoc Huy, VinFast Indonesia CEO, commented, "VinFast is proud to participate in IIMS 2024 and introduce smart, eco-friendly vehicles, empowering Indonesian consumers with diverse choices for sustainable mobility. We are confident that VinFasts comprehensive electric mobility platform will make electric vehicles more accessible to everyone, serving as a catalyst for the country's transition to clean energy."
The event marks the official launch of the EV brand in the Indonesian market, signifying VinFast's global expansion and advanced manufacturing capabilities to develop EVs for all types of markets. The country is a significant market for the company, both in terms of manufacturing and market demand, in the Asian region.
For the local buyers, VinFast has assured "flexible sales and outstanding after-sales policies" for hazzle-free ownership, while the company will partner with local suppliers to establish a nationwide charging network for the convenience of its customers.
This ambitious plan will enable seamless electric mobility for Indonesian customers, significantly boosting sustainable transportation adoption in the market, the company claims. VinFast is likely to offer its entire range of right-hand drive electric cars to the Indonesian buyers.
VinFast has already announced that it will build a local EV manufacturing plant in Indonesia with a projected capacity of 50,000 cars per year. The planned factory is expected to create significant jobs and be part of the emerging domestic EV industry in the country.
Further, it is said that the facility will also represent a key link in VinFast's global electric vehicle supply chain once it becomes operational.
