Hydrogen technology company BayoTech has announced that it has partnered with BIOVIC to encourage the use of green hydrogen in Spain.
BIOVIC, a Valencian firm lately procured by FACSA, Grupo Gimeno, specializes in biogas, biomethane, and green hydrogen plants, as well as in environmental consulting, waste recovery, and renewable energies. It is already carrying out multiple green hydrogen production plants in Spain centered on biogas and biomethane plants.
BayoTech is dedicated to a low-carbon supply of hydrogen. The company’s modular, scalable, and rapidly deployable hydrogen production systems require lower upfront capital commitments, streamlined siting, and installation and, when paired with biomethane, produce highly cost-effective green hydrogen. The firm recently received a capital investment of up to $157 million (€132 million) to accelerate its infrastructure growth and expansion.
“We are very contented with this alliance, as it is very synergistic with our activity around biogas and biomethane,” said Luis Puchades, Director, BIOVIC.
“Also, green hydrogen has important advantages since it can be produced at its point of consumption (ports, supply points, refineries, or fertilizer plants) at a very competitive cost and with a low or even negative carbon footprint if its raw material is biogas.”
Scott Dyer, Vice-President-Business Development, BayoTech, stated: “Biogas and biomethane represent an important part of BayoTech’s sustainability strategy and critical pathway to decarbonisation in hydrogen production.
“BIOVIC brings a wealth of knowledge and experience around biogas, biomethane, and green hydrogen production projects in Spain. We are excited to partner with them and explore opportunities for green hydrogen production throughout the region.”
