Denmark-based Everfuel has announced a collaboration with the Volvo Group for supplying green hydrogen and fuelling solutions for zero-emission mobility in long-haul trucking.
The company will be supplying green hydrogen to Volvo's recently announced testing of fuel cell trucks in Northern Sweden and Spain, in which the vehicles will be exposed to both extremely cold and warm operating conditions.
During the testing period, Everfuel will provide a moveable hydrogen station to refuel the trucks at both test locations. The test period is scheduled to start in 2023.
"The collaboration with Volvo Group is highly valuable to us, and we intend to do our outmost to support the commercial launch of their fuel cell trucks", said Jacob Krogsgaard, the CEO of Everfuel.
"We look forward to learning more about fuelling hydrogen under extreme conditions. Volvo's decision to develop clean hydrogen-powered trucks is an important validation of how hydrogen and batteries will complement each other in the rapid transition to a future of fossil-free mobility", he added.
Everfuel owns and operates green H2 infrastructure available for automotive OEMs to connect the entire hydrogen value chain. It also provides hydrogen fuel to enterprise customers under long-term contracts.
The company has activities in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, and is planning to expand its reach across Europe.
