Amp Energy Green Pvt Ltd, ReNew Vikram Shakti Pvt Ltd, Hero Solar Energy Pvt Ltd, and ACME Cleantech Solutions Pvt Ltd have won the Solar Energy Corporation of India's (SECI) auction for developing a 1,200MW interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid power projects (Tranche VI) with energy storage and assured peak power supply across India.
As per the auction results, ReNew Vikram Shakti Pvt Ltd has won the largest capacity (600 MW) followed by ACME Cleantech Solutions Pvt Ltd (380MW), Hero Solar Energy Pvt Ltd (120MW), and Amp Energy Green Pvt Ltd (100MW).
The tender was issued by SECI in November 2022.
The minimum capacity of each project required was 50 MW. The maximum capacity to be allocated to a bidder would be limited to 1,200 MW. A mandatory energy storage system of at least 100 MWh capacity for each 100 MW project capacity had to be deployed as part of the project.
The tender mandates hybrid projects to be designed for interconnection with the transmission network of the central transmission utility at a voltage level of 220 kV or above where the choice of the delivery point for the projects will be limited to the substations listed by SECI, belonging to the ISTS network.
The tender listed seven substations located in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.
The projects will have to be commissioned within 24 months from the effective date of the PPA.
