Triton Electric Vehicle (TEV) on Wednesday (September 20) said the company is set to introduce 3.5T Triton EV pickup truck for Indian and Middle Eastern Market from TEV's EV range.

The company has introduced the EV pickup truck for tapping into the growing demand for electric mobility in the logistics and supply chain sector in these two markets. Particularly in India, freight movement is increasingly skewed toward road transportation and heightened focus on sustainable logistics are driving this shift at a rapid pace.

"EVs are becoming stronger by the virtue of their contribution into the diverse automobile sector. The logistics sector represents a great portion of automobile consumption and this sector is showing fast adoption of EVs," said Himanshu Patel, MD, Triton EV.

"Supporting local EV production will not only generate job opportunities within the supply chain for a larger number of people. This EV pickup truck shall open the doors of better profitability and better supply chain coverage," Patel added.

In May 2022, Triton EV set up its largest R&D facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The facility will serve as the global centre of Triton EV's entire R&D activities which includes Triton EV Trucks, Triton EV Cars, and special purpose vehicles.
