Tata Motors to provide 300 EVs to EESL subsidiary CESL
Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), announced that it has awarded a Letter of Award in favor of Tata Motors for acquiring 300 electric cars with three three-year warranty.
"This will consist of 300 four-wheeler electric cars (with length less than 4 meters) and range equal to or more than 250 kilometers. This award is a part of the Scaling up Demand-Side Energy Efficiency Sector Project financed by the Asian Development Bank line of credit to CESL," the company said in a declaration.
CESL will work with Tata Motors to position these vehicles to government entities looking to switch to electric vehicles.
"More and more government entities in India are switching over to electric transport. Our association with Tata Motors is a good development for the future of mobility in India," Mahua Acharya, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CESL, said.
The total cost of tender is around Rs 44 crore. It will be executed in two schedules. In the first phase, 300 cars with three years' warranty -- four-wheelers with less than four-meter length and range equal to or more than 250 kilometers -- will be acquired at a base price of Rs 14,33,000 per unit.
The second schedule will comprise inland transportation, including loading, unloading, transfer to a designated location, transit insurance, and other costs incidental to the delivery of vehicles. This will be done at Rs 21,000 per unit.
