India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), a leading industry body focused on the promotion of energy storage, e-mobility, green hydrogen and clean technologies in India has tied up with Messe Muenchen India (MMI), Solar Promotion International (SPI), and Freiburg Management and Marketing International for the launch of EV Asia Expo 2024.

Aimed at strengthening the future of EV ecosystem in India, EV Asia Expo 2024 will host focused conferences for the electric mobility sector facilitating the exchange of knowledge, EV market insight, and key innovations in the critical areas of the sector.

"The inaugural edition of EV Asia Expo is poised to redefine the landscape of clean mobility," IESA said in a statement.

The industry body is expecting 150 exhibitors from across the globe and more than 10,000 trade visitors at the Expo. Observing the massive growth of the EV sector in India, earlier this year, IESA launched the India Electric Mobility Council (IEMC), a platform with a comprehensive, technology-agnostic approach catering to the entire EV ecosystem. IEMC currently includes more than 60 EV original equipment manufacturers, EV component providers, EV charging infrastructure companies, and startups and companies operating in the battery swapping segment.

"By leveraging IESA's extensive network of companies and institutions in EV and batteries, this collaboration aims to attract global EV-focused exhibitors and visitors. This will bring German expertise and fill a void in the Indian EV industry's international trade fair scene," said Bhupinder Singh, CEO of MMI. "Our joint plan includes hosting conferences on electric mobility market opportunities, aligning with India's goal of achieving Net Zero by 2070. Together, we are determined to bolster the industry's power and potential."

IESA was founded in 2012 by Customized Energy Solutions (CES) to build an industry network for promoting energy storage in India. Today it has 180+ member companies, and over the years, its scope has widened to encompass industry verticals from e-mobility, green hydrogen, microgrids, to power electronics, renewable energy, and the cleantech industry.

"The clean transportation movement is gaining momentum today, and India will be one of the world's largest markets for clean mobility technologies including battery manufacturing, EV manufacturing, EV components development, indigenous R&D, and electric vehicles," said Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, Founder & President, IESA and CES.

"We are happy to join forces with MMI to represent this emerging industry," he added.
