Swiss battery technology innovator Battrion AG and associate Jagenberg Converting Solution GmbH have demonstrated Aligned Graphite® technology at industrial speeds. This breakthrough authenticates Battrion's technology for large-scale production.

In March this year, Swiss battery technology provider Battrion AG and the Jagenberg Group, with its sub-unit Jagenberg Converting Solutions GmbH, announced their partnership to bring Aligned Graphite® technology to the mass market. Today, the two companies announced that they have successfully demonstrated Aligned Graphite® technology on a large-scale coating line with speeds of up to 100 m /min. This achievement marks an important milestone in the collaboration between Jagenberg and Battrion, as it validates the technology's feasibility for large-scale anode production.

This breakthrough comes at a crucial time. With soaring raw material prices, cell manufacturers are looking for ways to cut costs, while increasing production capacity and further improving battery performance. With Aligned Graphite® technology, cell manufacturers now have a powerful new lever to solve these problems, which translates into greater flexibility in the cost/performance trade-off. The negative electrodes can be thicker without affecting the charging speed or be charged faster while maintaining the same energy density, safety, and lifespan.

Jagenberg is proud to announce that its line of coating products is now fully compatible with Battrion's technology. Aligned Graphite® technology can be used either by setting up a new pilot or complete production line (on a GWh scale) or by retrofitting existing battery manufacturing lines.
