Bounce Infinity has announced that it has planned to expand its battery swapping facility for electric scooters.

The company is partnering with Greaves Cotton to install more swapping stations for Geaves Electric Vehicles. This move will increase the standardization of batteries and hence lead to more options for electric vehicle owners.

Greaves Retail is the first company to have implemented the Bounce Infinity battery-swapping network. The company has identified Bengaluru as the pilot city for this project. The company is planning to target a total of 10 cities in India and set up 300 swapping stations in each one.

This will help Greaves Retail provide better last-mile connectivity. The battery swapping service will be for both electric 2-wheelers which includes Ampere electric scooters and 3-wheelers (B2B & B2C segments).

According to a statement by Bounce, all popular models of Ampere could soon be available to customers with BAAS. BGR.in confirmed with Bounce that these swapping stations will also accommodate the Infinity E1 scooter.

The battery swapping solution will largely be available at locations such as residential complexes, petrol pump stations, restaurants, cafes, co-living spaces, corporate offices, Kirana stores, etc. These stations will power electric vehicles manufactured by Greaves. The Bounce Infinity swapping stations will have charged and ready-to-go batteries for Greaves Retail customers.

According to Bounce, the integration has already been completed with Greaves electric scooters and would very soon be made available to other models of the Greaves.

Commenting on the collaboration, Vivekananda Hallekere, Co-Founder & CEO, Bounce, said, "Bounce and Greaves Retail remain committed to bringing affordable and sustainable solutions to the market. We are happy to have ampere as our partners who will be using our battery swapping platform. This enables more Indians to have access to affordable mobility with Baas..''

Commenting on the partnership, YVS Vijay Kumar, CEO – Greaves Retail, Greaves Cotton, said, ''As we are committed to providing our customers with uninterrupted drive with our electric vehicles, this partnership with Bounce Infinity will help us expand our offerings and strengthen our leadership position in EV space.''
