British premium Electric Vehicle (EV) brand, One-Moto has announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Telangana for setting up its Indian manufacturing unit.

The new facility will be panned at the outskirts of Hyderabad as it seems to be the key market for EVs, with the state government accelerating the EV revolution with supporting policies for EV production, and strong infrastructure too. The EV manufacturer plans to invest up to Rs. 250 crore to set up the manufacturing unit.

One-Moto aims to produce 40,000 units annually in the initial phase and create 500 direct and 2,000 indirect jobs in the region.

The new manufacturing plant will have major automation integration with additional semi- robotics, and the latest manufacturing machinery to produce cutting-edge products. The plant will be spread across 15 acres of area.

One Moto lately launched its new e-scooter Electa at the EV India expo in Greater Noida. After the brand launch in India in November 2021, the brand has already brought three e-scooters for Indian customers- Byka, Electa, and Commuta. All the e-Scooters are high-speed premium products boasting dazzling style, and high-end quality.

The manufacturing plant will produce all One-Moto fleet in addition to two Indian fleets that are to be launched by Ellysium Automotives, presently promoting One Moto in India.

"We are determined to provide Indian customers with quality products in EVs. The idea is to manage all the production in India and cater to the growing market. We aim to manufacture at least 40,000 units in the first phase of the plant launch, and capacity will easily be taken up to 100,000 in two years," said Sameer Moidin, Co-Founder & Partner, One Moto India.

"With the new manufacturing plant, we not only aim to serve our customers in India but also export vehicles to other global markets which One Moto is developing. There is tremendous opportunity to create jobs in the state of Telangana not just at the manufacturing facility, but also in rural areas. We will be also setting up skill development programs with the state since EV after-sales service requires a specialized skillset. We look forward to working with the state Government which has been putting all its efforts towards promoting e-Mobility. The plant will create almost 500 direct & 2000 indirect jobs in the state. This development will serve larger purposes in all directions for the holistic development of electric mobility ecosystem," stated Shubhankar Chaudhry- CEO, One Moto India.
