Universal Hydrogen, H3 Dynamics join forces for H2-powered aviation
US hydrogen-fuelled aviation specialist Universal Hydrogen Co has announced that it has formed a partnership with Singapore-based air mobility technology developer H3 Dynamics to mutually work on solutions for hydrogen-powered flight.
Their partnership will primarily focus on a full range of unmanned aircraft, from small drones to large, unmanned cargo delivery, and extend to manned aircraft, consisting of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) and other light aircraft segments, the new partners said.
H3 Dynamics will develop and supply fuel-cell powertrain solutions, while Universal Hydrogen will provide green hydrogen fuel logistics using its modular capsule technology, the announcement reads.
The companies also agreed to collaborate in the regional aircraft market, focusing on new-build regional airliners with a distributed propulsion architecture.
"New industries are seldom built by one individual or one company," stated Taras Wankewycz, H3 Dynamics founder and CEO.
"They require coalitions and ultimately entire ecosystems."
"This collaboration is an instant force multiplier for the scale and reach of both companies and will enable us to move faster to offer true zero-emissions solutions across a broad range of aircraft," said Paul Eremenko, co-founder, and CEO of Universal Hydrogen Co.
"For this reason, we are also looking at standing up a joint R&D center in Toulouse, France, as Toulouse is a critical talent hub for us both," added Eremenko.
