Tata Power subsidiary, TPREL deploys 850+ e-bus charging points pan-India

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) a subsidiary of Tata Power on Wednesday (June 12) announced that it has deployed more than 850 charging points in key metropolitan areas across India.

The charging points strategically located at 30+ bus depots across major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jammu, Srinagar, Dharwad, Lucknow, and Goa will enable 2,300+ public electric buses nationwide.

"Tata Power is dedicated to promoting e-mobility adoption and is fostering synergies with various OEM operators and enabling various state governments' transport corporations," TPREL said in an official statement.

As part of its EV charging infrastructure development, Tata Power has designed and built various bus depots across the country and the charging facilities are equipped with high-capacity fast chargers with a range of 180-240kW with an average charging time of 1-1.5 hours. The rapid charging capabilities support the demanding operational needs of public transport buses.

As per Tata Power, the robust bus charging network has led to more than 1 lakh tons of tailpipe CO2 emissions savings.
